In Memorium of Richard Yarde

Richard Yarde passed away on December 10, 2011 after a lengthy illness. We mourn the loss of a great friend and artist. In 2007, Richard received the President's Award from The Amistad Center for Art & Culture in recognition of his enormous contributions to our community and our culture. His remarkable watercolor, Ringshout II, was commissioned for our collection to mark The Amistad Center's 20th anniversary in 2007. Susan Donovan Yarde, his beloved wife and mother to their two sons, predeceased him on September 24, 2011. The Board of Trustees, staff and supporters of The Amistad Center for Art & Culture extend our deepest sympathy to the Yarde family. Richard and Susan will be missed and remembered always.
